In a world where life moves fast and responsibilities pull us in every direction, the search for balance — between work, family, and the self — becomes a deeply personal, yet universally shared journey.

My photography project, “Between shifts,” is a visual and narrative exploration of four men’s lives. Though their paths differ in detail, they are united by one quiet struggle: to stay connected to their passion while meeting the demands of work and family.

This project is not just about photographing moments — it’s about capturing the quiet energy it takes to remain whole, to keep the self alive amid the noise of life.

A reflection on how we live, how we work, and how we refuse to let our passions fade.

Salman AlIbrahim is a young entrepreneur and founder of a 3D printing startup. Amid the pressures of building a business, he finds peace and presence in his love for horses. Whether riding or caring for them, the bond he shares with these animals — and with his young son — becomes his grounding space.

Hussein Alqassab is an anesthesiologist, spending long hours in the sterile focus of operating rooms. Yet, in the quiet of his garage, he’s a craftsman of another kind — restoring classic cars with patience and care. His current project, an old Mustang, is both a mechanical and emotional journey — a counterbalance to his clinical world

Sajjad Alkhodor is a technician at Aramco. He’s single, and lives for adrenaline and movement — skydiving, motorbikes, and calisthenics are his chosen escapes. His hobbies speak to his inner need for freedom, control, and physical expression beyond the rigors of his daily job.

Ahmed Alghadban  is a father of two and a mechanical engineer who runs a truck maintenance workshop. But outside of work and fatherhood, he is a dedicated bodybuilder — not as a side hobby, but as a disciplined, committed lifestyle. His story reflects the tension and harmony between strength in the gym, structure at work, and softness at home.
